If you are reading NON-FICTION: Tell us the topic of your book and talk about three interesting facts that you learned while reading. Why were these facts interesting to you?
If you are reading FICTION: Write a paragraph about the main character in the book you are reading. Tell us about one of his or her character traits, and give some evidence from the story that shows the character displaying that trait. For example, if I were reading Charlotte's Web, by E.B. White, I might discuss Wilbur. I would tell you that he is loyal, and a piece of evidence for that would be when he goes out of his way to take care of his good friend Charlotte as she is getting older.

The fiction book I'm reading is the book invisible stanley by Jeff Brown and the best thing in the book that i like is that he uses a balloon as his head to know where he is. My favorite character is Stanley. His character trait is that he is very friendly and doesnt get mad at anything, or even about being flat. For example each time something happens in the book to Stanley he doesnt get mad or anything he just tries to solve it. -David Moniz
ReplyDeleteIt's great that Stanley tries to solve all of his problems without complaining, David. I'm wondering if there is a different trait we could use to describe that. I've posted a link to a list of character traits in the original post I made for this topic. Why don't you check it out and let us know if you find another word to describe Stanley when he tries to solve his problems without giving up?
DeleteWell i have another caracter trait ,that he is very brave ,helpful ,and very nice pearson too.-David Moniz
DeleteI am reading a book called Warriors it's by Erin Hunter. I am currently on the last book called The Last Hope. The series is about how cats survive in the wild but they are not just your average wild cats. Nooooo they are fierce warriors, they have adapted to the live of the forest, the mash, and the plains, not like the plain you fly in the air no the one that's is a landscape. They have adapted to the environments that they live in like how to get food of having to defend themselves. If you want to hear more ask in a reply or at school for more details.Thank You :D
ReplyDelete-Morgan M.
Morgan,
DeleteBased on your description of the cats, if I had to choose a character trait to describe them, I would say that they are resourceful, because they adapt to their surroundings and use what they have to survive. Can you think of another trait to describe the cats?
clever? because if they are able to survive in the wild for years then they have to be clever enough to survive :D.

I agree!
DeleteI am reading a book called As Simple As It Seems. The main charachter's name is Verbena. She is daring. In the story she is trying to figure out if her uncle is alive and she is willing to pry into anyone's buissness and I mean any one's buissness. She is also trying to find out if she is adopted. She wonders because she is brown haired and every one in her family is blond. She has risked her friends , family, and memories to find out.

Delete-Caly
caly I got it at the book fair will lend it to you when I'm done
DeleteSheridan J
ok thank you! :)
Delete-Caly
Sheridan,
ReplyDeleteVerbena does sound daring. Let's think of another trait to describe her, too...what's a good word for someone who never gives up and stops at nothing to find out or get what they want?
How about curious. curious because she has so many questions about her uncle and if she is adopted
DeleteI was thinking that she is determined. You said that she would pry into ANYONE'S business, because she was wanting so badly to find out if she was adopted or not. It made me feel like she was a determined person. What do you think about that?
ReplyDeleteGreat one love it!!!!!

ReplyDeleteThe main character is Geronimo Stilton he he clumsy. One of the part says "I tried to get up but my knees wouldn't straighten. I grabbed the display case but i made the swords fall. Cutting of my whiskers. I crashed into the ikebana and thorn got stuck in my fur.I tried to pull it out but I knocked over the kettle and burned my tail. I banged my head on a gong. And I finally fainted."

I'm reading a book called "A Series Of Unfortunate Events" and the main character is Violet Baudelarie. She is responsible/trustworthy because her parents said "If we die,you need to take care of your siblings." Since they've "died",Violet has been taking care of them in a buch of trouble.Kyle D.
ReplyDeleteNice response, Kyle! So when you say Violet is responsible and trustworthy, can I assume that she has been doing a good job taking care of her siblings?
Deleteyes she is Mrs.McGongle.I can not wait to read the last two (i'm on the 10th) Kyle D.
DeleteKyle D. she has to be responsible/trustworthy so her siblings can be safe. Ian G.

DeleteMrs. McGonigle the book that I am reading is a Fiction book. The book has two characters Carter and Sadie. Carter is brave. There is a part in the book were he says that "that's it! I'm tired of waiting to think of an idea to cross the plank!" Sadie is cautious. A part of the book said "carter that doesn't look very safe for someone to walk on." Ian G.
ReplyDeleteA brave character and a cautious character! I bet they help balance each other out throughout the story. I wonder if there will be a point in the story where Sadie has to be brave, too?
DeleteThe book I'm reading is Sports HEROES .It is about baseball, like how mike sweeney hit 31 homeruns. Or when jay bell won sportsman of the year.Even better fist baseman Joe Carter hits a homerun in the 9 inning to win the game. Joshua D
DeleteThe non fiction book I'm reading is Captain Underpants. There are really two main characters in the story but I'll talk about is George. He is very humorous. He is very humorous because at one point in the story he stops people from bullying little kids bye taking of his tie and hitting them with it. The bullies are scared of him and jump into the dumpster.
ReplyDelete-James C.
Could we consider George brave, too? Sometimes standing up to bullies is a sign of bravery. Does George show any other signs of bravery in the story, James?
DeleteI am reading The Hunger Games right now by Suzanne Collins. My favorite character is Katniss. She is protective over her sister Prim Rose. When Prim gets ellected in the Hunger Games , Katniss quickly gets worried and volunteers as tribute , which means she takes Prim's place. She could die during the Hunger Games.
ReplyDelete-Kalei Furtado
Kalei, Katniss sounds brave for volunteering to do that. Are there any other pieces of evidence in the story that suggest Katniss is brave?
DeleteThe fiction book i am reading is called Holes by Louis Sachar. The main character in the story is Stanley Yelnats. He is sent to camp green lake because he was framed for stealing shoes. At camp green lake he meets new friends! Stanley is loyal because when he finds a "treasure in one of the holes he's digging he gives it to a friend so the friend can have the day off. Also he is loyal because, his friend runs away from camp and Stanley tries to find him.
ReplyDelete-Coryne R.
That was a very generous act Stanley committed when he gave his friend the treasure. Are there any other examples of Stanley showing loyalty towards that same friend that ran away, Coryne?
DeleteIm reading a fiction book called Dork Diaries it's about a girl named Nikki and she is in middle school but it's turning out as a bad year. She is not to confident because she likes this boy but she thinks she is such a loser and nobody would ask her out for the dance.Nikki is a dork because she is not like those other girls that would care how she looks like and she is not popular at all the popular girl hates her and everybody thinks she is a dork she does too.So Nikki is a not so confident person and she's also a dork. :)
ReplyDelete-Caly M.
Caly, there is a word (well, it's actually two words) to describe someone who is not confident. It's on the character trait webpage I put in the original post. See if you can find the trait I'm thinking of!
DeleteI am reading a book called captain underpants. There are two main characters George and Harold but ill only talk about George. He is very curious and brave. He is brave because he runs across an intersection. He is curious because he went behind a dumpster to figure out what a noise was.
